The University of Western Australia, ANZLAA and Tecniplast would like to invite you to attend the
Zebrafish Husbandry Course
Tuesday, 10th to Thursday, 12th September
ANZLAA Pre-Conference Workshop Perth
This unique course will be presented by a distinguished panel of international and local Zebrafish experts including Carrie Barton from University of Oregon USA, Dr Lucie Nedved from University of New South Wales, Alhad Mahagaonkar from University of Auckland NZ, Bruce Newell from Deakin University and Ben Ezzy from University of Western Australia to name just a few...all of who are advancing Zebrafish Husbandry practices in their facilities and within the Zebrafish community.
Attendees will get firsthand knowledge on how to improve their current practices from industry leaders who have greatly improved levels of zebrafish breeding, fry growth and facility management.
Some of the topics this course will cover includes;
o Zebrafish Natural History and Behaviour
o Water Quality Fundamentals & Management
o Zebrafish Facility Planning & Facility Management
o Spawning and Reproduction
o Genetic Colony Management
o Zebrafish Dry Diet & Live Diet
o Zebrafish and Ethics Involvement
o Infectious & Non-Infectious Diseases
o Health Monitoring and Diagnostics
o Clove Oil project in Zebrafish
This exciting course will conclude with a tour of the ‘state-of-art’ Zebrafish facility at UWA and a Zebrafish Procedure Demonstration Lab involving techniques valuable to maintaining a research zebrafish colony.
The procedure techniques will range from entry level to more advanced and this session will provide each attendee with an up close look at commonly used procedures and husbandry methods such as gender identification, embryology/embryo quality assessment, dissection for histological preparation, stripping embryos and more.
