Hi all, For those of you who may not have seen them, there is a new water testing solution availalbe from La Motte called the "SpinTouch"
Rory Francis ( President of the ZHA) is currently an authorised dealer for these units. they appear to be a very useful unit with great time savings.
There is one headed my way and I will post more infomation once I have had a chance to get one out of the box and operating on my desk.
For the interim, have a look at this: ( they make disks for all sorts of testing regimes and industries.) this clip is a bit "over the top" and refers to pool maintenance, but you'll get the idea.
The freshwater aquatic disk reports:
Alkalinity TAN ammonia Hardness Nitrite Nitrate pH Phosphate
I'm hoping that this is going to present some pretty big time savings in our testing regime.
Anyone who is really keen can sit in on the ZHA Lunchtime zoom this coming Saturday Morning at 2 a.m. 25th July 2020 Australian Eastern time zone. The research chemist who developed the disks will be a guest on the zoom chat as well as representatives from La Motte..
Cheers, Bruce.

And for those who are testing saltwater, the unit reports: p.H. TAN ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, Kh, calcium, phosphate and magnesium.
This would even make them useful for basic reef tank monitoring.

And so the unit has landed on my desk.
WOOOHOOO!!!!! This thing Rocks!!
To run 7 tests on a freshwater system including sample preparation took me 4 minutes and 6 seconds.
Photospectrometer reults for: Ammonia Nitrite Nitrate Kh (Alk) GH Hardness Phosphate P.H. I have stuck a quick vid of the results format on you tube.
Cheers Bruce.
