We have a captive population of ~1000 guppies (Poecilia reticulata) currently housed in CTR facilities at the School of Biological Sciences, UWA. The founders for this population were collected from a wild population in Queensland in 2006 and have since been maintained in outbred stocks and used as required for behavioural and genetics experiments funded through the ARC. Guppies are excellent models for behavioural, genetics, ecotoxology and ecological research, easy to breed with short (~3 month) generation times.
As our funding for guppy research has now come to an end, we are looking to rehome the fish and some of our infrastructure from July 2024. If interested, please contact Prof. Jon Evans (jonathan.evans@uwa.edu.au) to discuss.
